Regular Meeting Times

*** MARCH 11 - (Via Zoom) Christine Judal ***

Christine Judal’s early experience attending the Southern Baptist Church didn’t prepare her for what would happen after her father died when she was 13 years old. During World War II, he had endured almost four years in a POW camp near Nagasaki, Japan, and personally witnessed the atomic destruction of that city; experiences which, after the war, led him to drink. Christine, the youngest of six children, experienced him more and more as an alcoholic and sometimes abusive father as she grew up, while she, herself, had become a resentful young teenager by the time he died. When she returned home after his funeral, she felt something pressing on her in the house, and she knew it was him, but did not want to engage. She tried to ignore what she sensed, but he persisted for weeks. Finally, she confronted him. “Tell me what you want,” she said, “and then you have to go away, and never come back.” What happened next changed her forever.
On Wednesday, March 11, at 7:00 pm Central Time, Christine will join us live via Zoom from her home in California, to share the remarkable story of her encounter with her father’s spirit, and it’s indelible, transformative impact on her life.

*** APRIL 8 - (In-Person) Anthony Chene's film "Renaissance" ***

Anthony Chene is a professional filmmaker who has interviewed a number of NDE experiencers (NDErs), and his films are always of exceptional quality. His latest production, titled “Renaissance”, is a full-length documentary exploring the NDE phenomenon itself, as told by four different NDErs and two NDE researchers. The film is thought-provoking, compelling, and offers a well-balanced view of what understandings we might be able to draw from these experiences. On Wednesday, April 8, at 7:00 pm Central Time, we will meet in-person in Flower Mound, to watch “Renaissance”, with an open discussion to follow.

*** MAY 13 - (Via Zoom) Kathy McDaniel ***

Why are some near-death experiences (NDEs) distressing?
Placed on a ventilator for lung failure in 1999, Kathy McDaniel fought for her life in a drug-induced coma for three weeks. Her family waited and prayed, totally unaware of the horrors Kathy was bravely facing and miserably enduring in a seemingly eternal hell, culminating in her eventual glimpse of heaven and chat with her deceased fiancé. But Kathy still had work to do on Earth. During her lengthy recovery, she reflected on the purpose of her experiences in the afterlife, and later sought out others with the same story, eventually finding solace, hope, and understanding through IANDS in Seattle. On Wednesday, May 13, at 7:00 pm Central Time, Kathy will join us live via Zoom from California to share a story that is at once uplifting, humorous, chilling and engrossing. Please join us.

Other Information

The DFW Friends of IANDS exists for people who’ve had near-death and/or related experiences or who have personal or professional interest in such experiences. The purpose of the group is to provide these people with a forum in which to discuss such experiences and their meaning and integration into subsequent life. Discussion takes place in an atmosphere of openness and interest/support without judgment, proselytizing, or advice-giving.

Our meeting content varies from month to month. Sometimes we have a structured program, such as a speaker or watching a relevant video followed by discussion. Other times, we “circle up” and discuss our own NDEs and related experiences and their ongoing meaning in our lives.
