About the Film Screening Event:

Afterlife: Beyond the Light is a powerful documentary five years in the making, exploring the history, research, and firsthand accounts of near-death experiences (NDEs) and shared-death experiences (SDEs). Blending historical context, current scientific inquiry, and deeply personal stories, the film invites viewers into a thoughtful exploration of life, death, love, and the profound mystery of human consciousness.

The documentary features interviews with pioneering researchers Raymond Moody, whose early work brought near-death experiences into public awareness, and William Peters, a leading voice in the study of shared-death experiences. Their insights are woven together with firsthand testimonies and artistic elements—including movement and animation—to create a cinematic experience that bridges science and soul.

The film makers, Constance Brenneman and Susan Brittain will be present to personally introduce the film and will remain afterward for an audience Q&A and conversation. This is a special opportunity not only to view the documentary, but to engage directly with the filmmakers about the creative process and the profound questions the film raises.
